WP-00Grainelle wood panel sourcing desk
Wood wall panels from the Chinese panel clusters, with the swatch card on the table
Grainelle is a decorative wood panel sourcing desk. We coordinate partner plants in the Linyi, Shouguang, Foshan and Jiashan clusters, write the layers and grades of every line on one swatch card, manage certification routes, check each lot before it ships and turn a brief into samples.
- 10lines from fluted panels to edge trims
- 100-300 m2typical start per color
- 6 layerslisted on every swatch card

Most buyers start with one color and quickly need more: a brand that launches a fluted oak panel is asked for a walnut slat version; a showroom fitter that buys panels needs rails and battens and matching trims; every one of them sells veneer sheets to their joiners. Running each item through a different plant means different glues, different color batches and no single record when a lot looks warmer than the sample.
This desk keeps the range in one place: wall panels, the components that install them, and the papers that prove their grades. One swatch card per line, one inspection record per lot, one person accountable for the program.
Each line page carries its swatch card: a pattern sketch of the panel family, the six layers a plant will ask about with the options for each, and the reference ranges for sizes, thicknesses and grades. Start with what a wood panel is made of if the category is new to you.
The same fluted panel sells differently in a brand catalogue, a DTC sample program, a marketplace listing and a hotel corridor. These are the programs built most often, each with the formats, documents and color ladders that channel tends to need.
Chinese decorative panel making is concentrated in a few places. Linyi in Shandong is the densest belt: B2B rankings of integrated wall panel makers are dominated by plants in its Lanshan district, covering WPC, bamboo-fiber, wood veneer and acoustic panel lines, many export-facing. Shouguang and the wider Weifang area add veneer and melamine capacity; Foshan and Dongguan in Guangdong serve the high-end hotel and commercial project market; Jiashan in Zhejiang sits in the classic plywood county. The desk shortlists plants per line and per color family rather than routing everything to one supplier. See industry clusters and how plants are audited.
Panel quality shows up in things you can measure: panel size and thickness tolerance, moisture content against the destination climate, veneer adhesion, surface scratch and stain resistance, formaldehyde class against the certificate, the fire report behind the claimed rating, color difference against the retained swatch, and the crate that survives the journey. The inspection plan is agreed before production and the record goes out with the lot. Read quality control and testing and inspection.
Beyond matching lines to plants, most programs need some of the following. Each page explains how it runs and what is confirmed in writing.
A decorative panel is a composite wood product first. For the United States, formaldehyde emissions follow EPA TSCA Title VI, which largely harmonized with California's CARB Phase 2 and is certified by approved third parties; Chinese and European buyers read the same chemistry as E0, E1 or ENF grades under GB/T 39600. Chain-of-custody claims for wood use FSC or PEFC documents per lot. Fire ratings are quoted from tests - ASTM E84 classes in North America, EN 13501-1 classes in Europe - never from marketing. Grainelle holds none of these certificates itself; partner plant documents are verified per project. Read the formaldehyde grades guide, the fire rating guide and compliance, or send the brief to the quote form.
Send the lines and colors you need, target sizes and grades, the area per color and your market. The desk replies in writing with matched plants, a swatch program, certification routes and the reference MOQ.
